In Loving Memory of Todd Lamm

Todd Lamm Memorial

Some memorials are etched in stone. This one was planted in earth. A Northern Red Oak, strong and enduring, now standing in Maplewood's Memorial Park as a living tribute to Todd Lamm. On May 17th, family and friends gathered at this spot to remember him, beneath the canopy of his favorite tree.

The tree was donated by the Maplewood Conservancy and planted by the Maplewood Department of Public Works, a collaboration that speaks to the kind of community spirit Todd valued.

The Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra) is a fitting choice. It is among the most majestic native trees of the Northeast. Growing slowly, living long, and turning a deep, burning crimson each fall. It gives shade, shelter, and sustenance to the creatures around it, season after season. In many ways, it reflects the kind of quiet, steadfast presence Todd was to those who loved him. It was Todd's favorite, and it is easy to understand why.

The memorial site at Memorial Park will serve as a place of return, somewhere to sit with a memory, mark a season, or simply be near him for a moment. As the oak grows over the years, it will mark time the way he did: steadily, with depth.

The Lamm family extends its deepest gratitude to the MaplewoodDPW for their care in planting this tree, and to the Maplewood Conservancy for their generosity in making it possible.
